What is Nutrition

Nutrition as defined by the World Health Organisation  (WHO) as the intake of food considered relative to the body's dietary needs. It is therefore important to highlight the fact that nutritional needs change at different stages of life, genders and in individual health conditions. This is why Sandras' individualised nutritional plans are effective in any weight loss or health journey.

The food and fluid you consume  have different nutritional values and effects on your body. All food groups are required to ensure optimal health and function. Fad diets often encourage removing food groups or lowering energy requirements to a level where nutrients can be compromised.  it is therefore important to carefully consider all aspects of your food intake to ensure deficiencies are minimised.  Processed foods are poor in nutrients but of course may be included in a diet in moderation. Where as, fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, fish and lean meats are high in nutrients.  The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating contains information to guide the different life.  Whole foods contain for  instance, vitamin A, C, E and zinc providing antioxidant benefits and foods rich in omega-3's provide anti-inflammatory actions. This is why a personalised plan tailored to your body's needs and goals is necessary to provide it with a balance of required nutrients.

In conjunction with a regular exercise regime you will feel and see the benefits!
